Zootopia 2: Event the sequel 7 years after its great success
The sequel to the beloved animated film is coming
Zootopia (or ” Zououpoli ” in Greek) was one of Walt Disney Animation ‘s fresh ideas that was completely loved by the public and everyone was wondering if there would be a sequel.
Finally, this was confirmed 7 years after the release of the first film in 2016. The announcement that Zootopia 2 is a fact was made through the mouth of Bob Iger, CEO of Disney during the company’s recent meeting of shareholders.
As with the Toy Story 5 and Frozen 3 announcements, it’s the only information we know about their sequels, but it’s also a sign of the future of Disney’s animated films, which will build on some established franchises.
It is worth mentioning that last November a spinoff series within the universe titled ” Zootopia+ ” was released on Disney+.
Directed by Byron Howard, Rich Moore and Jared Bush, written by the latter and Phil Johnston. The first film lent their voices to: Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, Jenny Slate, Nate Torrence, Bonnie Hunt, Don Lake, Tommy Chong, JK Simmons, Octavia Spencer, Alan Tudyk, and Shakira . It is still unknown if all or some of the cast will return for Zootopia 2.
Zooupoli had won the hearts of the audience and critics, even winning the Oscar for Best Animated Film. It was also a huge success at the box office where in 2016 it brought in over $1 billion worldwide.
We currently don’t know when Zootopia 2 will be released, despite it being in development alongside Toy Story 5 and Frozen 3 .
