PS5: New software update available with a new plugin
The update was released today
2023 begins with a new software update for the PlayStation 5 that brings a major addition for owners of the new generation console.
Specifically, as of today, Thursday, January 12, a new update is available that allows the console to recognize and take advantage of Sony’s brand new controller, the DualSense Edge. The update comes with version code 22.02-06.50.00 and its size is around 1GB. Of course it covers both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, and its changelog is pretty familiar.
According to the company, the changes of the new PS5 software update are as follows:

- The DualSense Edge wireless controller is now supported.
- This system software update improves system performance.

At this point, let us remind you that the DualSense Edge will be released worldwide on January 26, 2023. In European countries and by extension also in Greece, its price will be €239.99, while in stores there will also be another package with alternative stick modules that will cost €24.99.
DualSense Edge Features:
The DualSense Edge will include several advanced hardware and software customization features. So users will be able to remap any key, fine-tune the sensitivity of triggers and analog sticks, and save separate settings in multiple profiles, for example one for each game.
In terms of hardware, owners will be able to customize the analog sticks with the three alternative stick caps included in the package, while on the back there are extra keys, with two sets inside the package. It is worth noting that all these accessories can be stored in the carrying case, which can even be connected with USB and charge the controller, so that it is always full for the next gaming sessions.
Of course, all the advanced features of the regular DualSense, such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, are normally present in the DualSense Edge as well.
