Intel shows its desktop graphics cards for the first time (IMAGES)
There has been a lot of talk in recent months about Intel graphics cards for desktops , the release of which has gone through several ups and downs. Of course, despite the rumors, speculation and official statements, the only images we had of the highly anticipated Arc GPUs were a few renders.
That is about to change now that Intel has decided to show its desktop graphics cards in real life for the first time. Yes, there are, and those who attended the Intel Extreme Masters gaming tournament that took place a few hours ago in Texas, USA, had the opportunity to see them up close.
More specifically, the company exhibited an Arc Alchemist 700 series card using the ACM-G10 GPU. Below you can see the photos brought to light by the Twitter user, Bryce_GfxDriverGuru , showing the model from all sides.
We do not know at this time whether it is the Arc Alchemist A770 or the more powerful A780 GPU, but we can still draw some conclusions. Specifically, the card has a dual-slot design, with a cooling system consisting of two large fans. What is most interesting are the PCIe power connectors. The board has an 8-pin and a 6-pin connection to supply additional power up to 225W, which means that in combination with the 75W that the PCIe x16 port of the motherboard can provide, the total consumption can probably be up to 300W. This means that Intel’s proposal will be quite similar to the competing graphics cards of AMD and Nvidia in terms of consumption and heat generated.
All that remains, then, is to see what the performance will be in games, benchmarks and various other demanding applications.
For now we know that PC hardware enthusiasts will be able to find the first Arc graphics cards on store shelves in late summer or early fall, if there are no further delays, so the last questions will be answered soon.
