B-21 Raider: This is the first 6th generation aircraft (PICTURES+VIDEO)

This was revealed by the US Pentagon

The US Pentagon has unveiled the B-21 Raider , the first stealth bomber in 30 years. At an event at the Northrop Grumman factory in Palmdale, California, it was presented to the media but most of its features remain secret. But the company described it as the ” first 6th generation aircraft in the world “, which means that it is more technologically advanced than any other aircraft today.

The Secretary of the US Department of Defense, Lloyd Austin, emphasized that ” no other long-range bomber can compete with the performance of the B-21 “, while noting that ” over 50 years of stealth technology developments ” have been incorporated into the craft and even the most advanced air defense systems will not be able to detect a B-21 in the sky.

The B-21 can fly in full stealth mode every day, unlike today’s models which require hundreds of hours of maintenance between missions.

Northrop Grumman currently builds six B-21s, each in different stages of production. The US Air Force is expected to order at least 100 B-21s, and the first tests of the stealth bomber will take place in California sometime in 2023, with the first aircraft entering service in the middle of the decade.
