Spider-Man: The Sandman actor will return in a future Marvel film

Thomas Haden Church confirms it is being discussed

Thomas Haden Church winks at fans on the possibility of his return as Sandman , after his last appearance in the highly successful Spider-Man: No Way Home .

In a recent interview with Pilot Productions, Tobey Maguire ‘s original Spider-Man trilogy actor revealed that he is not done with Marvel’s iconic villain. When asked if he would be interested in returning to the Sandman role, Church responded positively, revealing that there have indeed been discussions in that direction.

” Jon Watts and I, and Amy Pascal, the executive producer, along with Kevin Feige, had a lot of conversations. And I would say… there were conversations about the possibility of Sandman appearing in a future version of him. It became talk about whether he’ll come back and maybe get a more complete story with Flint and not just be the Sandman, but go back to human form, because there was such a case.” he said characteristically.

He even addressed the fact that his character in terms of plot and within the MCU could not appear in his human form. If you remember in “No Way Home” he only appeared in his “Sandman” form as a fully CGI character. However, his words hint that in some future Marvel movie he will reappear and in fact in his Marko Flint version.

With Sony long rumored to be preparing standalone sequels like a Tobey Maguire -starring Spider-Man 4 , the possibilities and scenarios for what could be thrown around are many. He could also appear in a film within Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.
