GTA 6: Take-Two is not afraid of the leak but will be more careful

Through the mouth of Take-Two’s Strauss Zelnick we learn the latest information

The leak of GTA 6 gameplay was an unfortunate and unfortunate event for Rockstar Games, but they seem undeterred. In the context of the recent meeting of the shareholders of the publishing company Take-Two and through the mouth of its CEO, Strauss Zelnick, it was restated that despite the terribly unpleasant development, the development of Grand Theft Auto 6 will not be affected .

But he emphasizes that now Take-Two will be much more careful in the matter of cyber security, in order to avoid a similar incident.

“In terms of the leak it was very unpleasant and we take these types of incidents very seriously. There is no evidence that any physical assets were taken, which is good. And certainly, the leak will not have any impact on development or anything like that ,” Zelnick said. . “But it’s terribly disappointing and forces us to be even more vigilant about cyber security issues . “

The leak of GTA 6, which is now considered one of the largest in the gaming industry, happened last September . At the time, dozens of footage of several hours and screenshots from an under-development version of it were leaked, which was however revealing in terms of its gameplay. In the wake of the leak, Rockstar Games had made the following statement:

We recently suffered an intrusion into our network in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early footage from the development of the next Grand Theft Auto. At this time, we do not expect any service interruptions for our live games, nor any long-term effects on the development of our projects.

We are extremely disappointed that any details about our next game were released in this way with all of you. Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as normal, and our commitment to delivering an experience for you, our players, that will truly exceed your expectations remains as strong as ever. We’ll update you all again soon and, of course, properly introduce you to this next game when it’s ready. We want to thank you all for your continued support in this situation.

The culprit of this serious leak was finally a 17-year-old hacker, who is currently in a juvenile detention center .
