League of Legends’ ping system is being fleshed out – Everything you need to know  

To make it easier to talk to your teammates

Riot Games is preparing a new enriched way to communicate with your teammates in League of Legends , in case you don’t want to talk via chat. The new changes came with the new pre-season update, where there is now the new ping system (in wheel form) and it will offer players a new line of communication to improve your game.

The new wheel will contain eight different options, so you can better describe what you intend to do in the match, while of course there will also be options to direct your team and ask for help or describe something on the map . Additionally, teams will be able to vote on which objective they should go to, so they can take down each enemy together.

At its core, LoL is a team game. In order to better facilitate communication between teammates, we will be doubling the number of pings available to players. These pings are: Retreat, On My Way, Assist Me, Enemy Missing, Push, All-In, Hold and Bait. With this update there will also be a separate wheel for these pings.

At the moment we do not know exactly when this update will be available for all players but it will come with Season 13.
