Volkswagen made an office chair that goes 20 kilometers per hour!

Yes, you read that right. The famous car manufacturer Volkswagen has made a real-life chair that looks like it came out of the science fiction series Star Trek! More specifically, we are dealing with an office chair that has more comfort than most vehicles and can move at almost 20 kilometers per hour.

Volkswagen points out that it took months of hard work and testing to complete the ambitious project. The result; A chair that can be driven, it has LED lights, a driver assistance system and an infotainment system.

It has an estimated range of 12 km, so office workers can commute to and from their meetings throughout the day, while the top speed reaches 20 km/h.

The LED lights are the main feature of the chair’s exterior and give it the recognizable Volkswagen touch. The chair also has a luggage compartment in the back, perfect for things like a laptop! In fact, for those who want to haul even more, there is even a hitch!

If all that wasn’t enough, the chair also has a reversing camera, sensors on all sides, a heated seat, turn signal lights on the desk, a stereo system and other things that most people recognize from Volkswagen cars.

It is worth noting that the whole project was implemented by Volkswagen of Norway for marketing purposes and – for the moment at least – it does not seem that the company’s chair-car will develop into a normal consumer product.
