Twitch: Streamers can share their list of banned users with each other

To protect themselves

A new tool to protect streamers is being introduced by Twitch, allowing them to share the list of users they have banned from their chat. Share Ban Info will allow streamers to work together to keep their communities safe from bad guys.

The feature is available starting today. The streamer will be able to create a request for this list which he will send to partners or streamers he follows and who follow him. If the other accepts the request, the streamer will then be able to see those users’ chat messages flagged, allowing moderators to ban them directly or simply monitor their behavior.

Users who have been banned in a channel will not be able to participate in the chat of another channel that has received the Ban List, unless the channel’s moderators allow it. In any case, their name will be underlined so that moderators can track them more easily.

Nothing is more important than the safety of streamers and their communities. Feeling comfortable to express yourself is one of the things that makes Twitch work, and that can only happen when people feel safe.
