Google Bard: The answer to ChatGPT

“War” on artificial intelligence

Within two months of its launch, ChatGPT has blown the world away, with Microsoft planning to use it for its own search engine, Bing. Google didn’t sit idly by though and Sundar Pichai announced its own AI chatbot yesterday.

Bard, as it’s been called, is an ” experimental AI service you can talk to ” and is based on the existing LaMDA dialog language model. Google’s official unveiling of Bard will take place tomorrow Wednesday from Paris at the “Google Presents” event.

Bard aims to combine the breadth of knowledge of the world with the power, intelligence and creativity of the great language models. It pulls their information from the web and delivers fresh, high-quality answers. We’ll combine external feedback with our own internal tests to make sure Bard’s answers meet a high standard for real-world information quality, security, and accuracy. We’re excited because this testing phase will help us continue to learn and improve the quality and speed of Bard.

Pichai did not share many details about Bard’s capabilities, but noted that its capabilities are such that ” a 9-year-old will be able to understand the new discoveries of the James Webb Space Telescope .” So more info tomorrow, with Techblinders bringing you all the latest from Google’s event.
