First gameplay footage from Dr Disrespect’s FPS game Deaddrop

Which will be competitive multiplayer experience

In case you don’t remember, the famous streamer Dr Disrespect recently announced that he is developing his own shooter game, through his newly formed team called Midnight Society .

Now, keeping their promise, the studio has officially revealed the game. Meet Deaddrop, a PvP FPS that promises to usher in a new era of competitive multiplayer and belongs to the category of ‘ Vertical Extraction Shooters ‘. Players aim to collect weapons, gear and other items as they fight their way up a tower, leaving the top with whatever loot they can. The concept is reminiscent of Escape From Tarkov, but with a cyberpunk theme.

The special thing about Deaddrop is that it is developed in collaboration with the community, so the first 10,000 members who had bought the Founders Access Pass, a package that even included an NFT for their character in the game, now got access to the first gameplay demo. These snapshots will be released every six weeks and the first one focuses on character movement and very basic systems such as the background mechanics for profiles and dedicated servers.

At this point let us remind you that the founder of the studio, Guy ‘Dr Disrespect’ Beahm, started his career in the gaming industry as a game developer, after working for many years at Sledgehammer Games for Call of Duty titles until 2015. At the same time , another co-founder of the team is Robert Bowling, former Infinity Ward community manager, as well as Quinn Delhoyo, former multiplayer designer of 343 Industries’ Halo titles.

Below is gameplay footage posted by some of the users who have access to the first snapshot.
