John Wick 4: Donnie Yen is ‘baking’ for a spinoff film with his character
While there is talk of various spinoff films in the John Wick universe
After the highly successful debut of John Wick – Chapter 4 by all accounts, Lionsgate is gearing up to expand the universe and with multiple spinoffs in the works, as it is not ready to say goodbye to either Keanu Reeves or the franchise of course .
A character that people have come to know and love in John Wick 4 is that of Caine, the blind executioner played by Donnie Yen . The 59-year-old Chinese actor and master of action films has expressed his desire to make a spinoff film based on Caine.
Speaking specifically to Variety, he revealed his intention for a “Caine” spinoff, saying: ” I would love to do a John Wick spinoff movie around Caine. There are always those ‘discussions’ in Hollywood (laughs). ” he had problems with his schedule because he and his wife run an advertising agency in China. As far as we know from Lionsgate’s latest statements, there is at least one more John Wick spinoff movie in the works that we’ll hear about soon enough.

At the same time, we will probably see ” Ballerina ” by Ana De Armas in 2024 as the first spinoff film of the Wick universe. Where both Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane will reprise their respective roles.
Also on TV, the universe will be expanded with the prequel series ” The Continental ” on Amazon Prime Video, which will star a young version of Winston (Ian McShane) and will be released towards the end of 2023.
