Netflix has removed the “basic” package in Canada – All the information
Will it be done in other countries?
It seems that Netflix is still looking for ways to find the perfect solution for the various packages it has available, since it has just become known that the ” basic ” tier of the service has been completely removed from Canada. In case you don’t know, Netflix has in many regions four different tiers for audiences to choose from.
The simplest category is the basic with Ads , which costs 7 dollars and offers ads, the 2nd is the basic category which costs 10 dollars, but has no ads, the 3rd is the standard with 1080P resolution in movies and series in 15.50 dollars and finally there is the premium which costs 20 dollars and offers 4K resolution.
However, as IGN reports , the streaming service has reorganized and completely removed the standard tier in Canada. At the moment there is no information if this will be done in other countries such as Greece. According to The Winnipeg Free Press , subscribers to the simple basic plan will remain on it unless they switch to another or close their Netflix account. If they switch to another tier, they will not be able to return to the basic package in the future, while new subscribers will not even be able to choose it.
The Netflix basic with ads package became available in America, Canada and other countries in November 2022 and is still not available in Greece. Let us remind you that this happened now, almost a month after Netflix launched the new measures for those who share their account with friends and acquaintances.
It seems that the service is preparing for many changes and it is only a matter of time before the new measure for those who share their code reaches more countries, while it is possible that we will also see the basic with ads package in Greece, i.e. the package with advertisements.
Let us remind you that in Greece we have three different packages and the one with the ads is missing. The prices in our country are as follows: basic/initial package at 7.99 euros, standard/typical at 10.99 euros and premium/full at 13.99 euros.
