The Last of Us Part 3: New update from Neil Druckmann

Will the HBO series affect the development of Part 3?

Will The Last of Us Part 3 happen and if so, where is it? Once again they asked franchise creator Neil Druckmann as the HBO series continues to make waves.

In particular, IGN asked Druckmann about The Last of Us Part III and whether it will be influenced by the TV series of the same name. For his part, Druckmann refrained from answering clearly, trying to avoid the trap question:

This question is like a coded “Is there a The Last of Us Part 3?” No comment. I’ll just say that we’re going to focus on… We have the multiplayer game that’s coming out and we’ll reveal more about that later in the year.

Once again he expressed that for The Last of Us 3 to happen there would have to be a “really good, compelling story” or “Part 2” would be its finale.

These were the words he mentioned a while ago in his interview with BuzzFeed saying that the only condition  for “Part 3″ to be made is to have a ” quality story, with a message about love, that will resonate to everyone.”

In a recent podcast Druckmann had already mentioned a new gameplay feature that he would  like the next The Last of Us to have  and inspired it for the sake of the HBO series.

The latest rumors about The Last of Us 3 are that it will be released sometime in 2026.
