It: Welcome to Derry – Wonder Woman writer as showrunner to ‘It’ series
With Brad Caleb Kane
A few months ago we informed you with relevant news that HBO Max is preparing the TV series of It , which is coming under the name “ Welcome to Derry ”. It is essentially a story that will act as a prequel to the films you know and wants to tell you new events in this universe.
The script is written by Shelley Meals and we just learned that the showrunners , that is, the ones who will have the upper hand on this show, will be Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane . Funchs has written the script for Wonder Woman , along with Allan Heinberg and Zack Snyder, while Kane has worked on several films including Aladdin (1992) and Extinction (2018).

This project was revealed many months ago and we know that it will focus on the well-known clown, Pennywise and we will learn a lot about him. It is currently unknown if previous cast members from the recent films will appear in the series.
In the It mythos, evil in the form of Pennywise appears every 27 years and terrorizes the people of Derry, meaning the series may be returning to the last ‘cycle’ which occurred in 1962. Also, presumably , this means that we will also see the destruction that was done in the “Black Spot” by a racist organization, which was also mentioned in the recent films.

When will the series be released?
As of now, the makers have not revealed when the show will premiere, however, it will air on HBO Max. Filming started a few months ago, so there’s a chance we’ll see her in 2023.
