Leaked video: Watch the moment Mark Zuckerberg fired 11,000 employees

With the CEO looking emotionally charged

A few hours ago Meta made some really unpleasant news, announcing that amid the difficult economic conditions prevailing worldwide, 11 thousand of its employees will lose their jobs. It is the first time in the history of the company since 2004 that we have a wave of mass layoffs , with its founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg personally taking responsibility.

Now, the well-known American television network CNBC has brought to the attention of the public a video from the moment Mark Zuckerberg made the difficult announcement. This seems to have been leaked by an employee who lost his job, being casually taken on a mobile phone. Zuckerberg, in addition to the written announcement that we informed you about yesterday , also held a video conference, in order to convey the message more directly to the employees of his company.

In the video, he seems emotionally charged, pointing out again that he personally takes responsibility and that this is one of the most difficult decisions he has ever been asked to make in his years running the company.

For the record, in his written announcement, Zuckerberg had emphasized:

Today I’m sharing one of the most difficult changes we’ve made in Meta history. I have decided to reduce the size of our team by approximately 13% and lay off more than 11,000 of our talented employees. We’re also taking a number of additional steps to become a leaner and more efficient company by cutting costs and extending the hiring freeze. I want to take responsibility for these decisions and how we got here. I know this is difficult for everyone and I am especially sorry for those affected.

Finally, Zuckerberg also pointed out that in the future Meta will focus on areas such as AI, advertising and the metaverse. For more you can find his detailed post by clicking here.
