Disney researchers at Disney Research Studios are truly revolutionizing de-aging CGI , that is, the special anti-aging effects that we have seen in recent years in Marvel and Star Wars series and movies . You will remember Tarkin and young Leia in “Rogue One”, Luke Skywalker in ” The Mandalorian ” and ” Book of Boba Fett” , but also various characters in Avengers: Endgame .  

Now Disney is back with an AI technology that will literally change what we’ve known—and seen—about age-altering CGI, as its newest version can transform any actor faster and with greater verisimilitude than ever before. It practically eliminates the “uncanny valley” problem as much as possible with detail and photorealism that convinces and fools even the most…trained eyes! 

This is logically the technology that was used to make Harrison Ford younger in the trailer of Indiana Jones 5 with the results being incredible, as many people have commented on social media. 

This particular technology does not require “tracking dots” (black dots) on the faces of the actors to work. Nor does it require weeks of painstaking and detailed retouching by digital artists on every frame.
