Hugh Jackman: And yet his favorite superhero is not from Marvel!
“Wolverine” made an unexpected revelation
Hugh Jackman has rightfully become synonymous with the name “Wolverine” having played the iconic role for over 20 years, while he is expected to return to the role in 2024 for the sake of Deadpool 3 , alongside Ryan Reynolds and for the sake of the cinematic Marvel Universe.
In a recent interview with Variety, the 54-year-old star revealed his favorite superhero, and despite playing one of Marvel’s most famous heroes, his love isn’t on the side he serves!
Wolverine admires Batman and DC
And yet he didn’t mention Iron Man, nor Thor, nor Captain America, and generally no one from Marvel’s side. Asked by Variety what his favorite superhero movie is, Jackman answered “DC” to everything. These were his characteristic words to Variety:
My favorite superhero movie? Growing up, he was the first Superman. He changed everything. Richard Donner’s film, starring Christopher Reeve. I will also say that I am thinking of a Nolan Batman movie. I’ll go with the Dark Knight.
Despite serving the X-Men and “Logan” for decades, Hugh Jackman admires DC films and chose Christopher Nolan ‘s ” The Dark Knight ” as his favorite of all, which is on the lists of many as well as the consciousness of the world as one of the best – if not the best – of its kind.
What we know about Deadpool 3 so far
Marvel Studios doesn’t even want to mess with the epic finale of ” Logan “, so the Multiverse will logically provide an explanation for Wolverine’s return. It looks like Hugh Jackman will play a different variant of Wolverine, as “Logan” will be dead.
Deadpool 3 will also be the first film in the Marvel Studios-led franchise and confirmed to be the MCU’s first R-rated film.
Let’s remember that Deadpool 3 was directed by Shawn Levy of Free Guy , The Adam Project and Stranger Things , while Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick from Deadpool and Deadpool 2 return to the script .
Deadpool 3 is expected to hit theaters on November 8, 2024 .
