Starfield: A special event dedicated to Bethesda’s space Skyrim is coming
Xbox promises a big 2023
The last time we saw anything of note from Starfield was at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022 last year in June. Since then some new information and interviews have come to light, but unfortunately no fresh gameplay footage.
It looks like this will change very soon. In particular, a few hours ago Microsoft announced its first Xbox Developer_Direct, in the context of which it will give detailed looks at Redfall, Minecraft Legends, The Elder Scrolls Online and Forza Motorsport. Although Strafield will be absent from the show on January 25th, Xbox has also made it clear that at a later date there will be a second Developer_Direct dedicated specifically to Bethesda’s hugely ambitious RPG.
In fact, speaking about it, the head of marketing for Xbox games, Aaron Greenberg, emphasized:
It’s going to be a big year for us, starting on January 25th, as we take you inside our studios to see some of the games coming to Xbox/PC/Game Pass in the coming months.
Also, to make time for an in-depth look at Starfield, we’re preparing a stand-alone show!
At this point let us remind you that Starfield is in development exclusively for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in terms of consoles, as well as for computers, where it will be available through Steam. In fact, it will be available on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service from day one.
The game is expected to be massive in scale, as Bethesda has confirmed that it will eventually include over 250,000 dialogue sentences! By comparison, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim had 60,000 dialogue sentences, while Fallout 4 reached 111,000. At the same time, Starfield will also have the largest city than we have ever seen in Skyrim, Oblivion and Fallout.
