Qualcomm introduced a chip twice as fast as the 13th generation Intel Core i7

With 1/3 of the power consumption

Qualcomm unveiled the new Snapdragon X Elite during its annual conference in Hawaii, calling the mobile chip its most powerful processor to date. Based on Arm architecture, it has 12 Oryon cores, offering – always according to Qualcomm – twice the CPU performance speed of the 13th generation Intel Core i7 1360P and i7-1355U. He even noted that it draws up to 68% less energy.

The 4nm chip is manufactured by TSMC with timing at 30.8GHz and dual-core boost at 4.3GHz. The cache is 42MB and the LPDDR5x memory reaches 136GB/s.

Compared to Apple’s M2, the X Elite offers 50% faster multithreaded performance, while thanks to the integrated GPU it offers twice the graphics performance of the i7-13800H.

X Elite offers 75TOPs in AI tasks, 4.5 times faster than its competitors. It can run language models with 13 billion parameters locally , while supporting AV1 4K HDR video encoding/decoding, 5G connectivity and Wi-Fi 7.

The first PCs to incorporate the Snapdragon X Elite are expected to arrive in mid-2024.
